Landscape Design
It all begins with the vision. Your dream landscape involves careful thought and planning, working alongside a designer who listens to what you want and has the expertise to put it all together into a master plan.
LandArc Landscaping & Design works closely with our clients to define the problems in your landscape and design innovative solutions that improve functionality, enhance the aesthetic beauty, and encourage ecological balance. We actually see these problems as opportunities to design a landscape for what you really want!
At LandArc Landscaping & Design, we are highly trained in architectural landscape design. We will work closely with you to develop a detailed master plan that will provide a framework for informed decisions into the building process.
Landscapes speak a language. Creative designs are interpreted with architectural detail, innovative engineering, and artistic expression.
Design Process
Landscape Design follows a process that includes site analysis, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
- Site Analysis: Study existing site conditions and identify opportunities/constraints. Consider biotic, abiotic, and cultural factors that directly or indirectly influence the site, such as hydrology, solar aspect, plants, animal migration, views, privacy, and structural elements. Identify invasive, diseased, hazardous, or unhealthy plants. Conduct a photo documentation of the existing site.
- Conceptual Design: Illustrate conceptual ideas with visual relationship diagrams (activities, circulation, zones, etc.)
- Schematic Design: Produce an Illustrative drawing of the design intentions that demonstrate the use of space. A plant list and material collage provide ideas for the look and feel of the future installation.
- Design Development: Illustrate specific areas and features of the proposed design with more detail using perspectives, section/elevations, and details.
- Planting Plan: Indicate specific species, locations, and quantity of proposed plants to be installed on the site.
- Site Layout: Identify and illustrate the proposed site elements, such as pathway, patio, water feature, deck, bench, firepit, pergola, bioswale, vegetable garden, retaining wall, etc.
