Ecological Services

In addition to the Landscape Construction services, LandArc Landscaping & Design is restoring the ecological systems by installing plants, creating wildlife habitat, and building bioswales and raingardens to clean the stormwater before it contaminates the rivers.

We live in an urban forest that has been fragmented by human development.  We have constructed our homes within a watershed that has been polluted with toxins.  People have a tendency to isolate and separate themselves from the natural world. We construct fences, buildings, and cars, plant manicured lawns, spray chemicals, and paving over the earth in a battle to sterilize and organize the wild nature that surrounds us.

However, we are a part of a dynamic community of organisms that living interdependently upon one another for survival.  As Chief Seattle wisely stated, “We did not weave the web of life, we are merely a strand in it. What we do, we do to ourselves.”

LandArc Landscaping & Design is weaving nature into the urban fabric of our community.  We are designing landscapes that weave ecology into the human experience… harmonizing human with nature.  We are integrating humans into the natural world by building habitat suitable for wildlife and humans, by restoring the fabric of ecology and culture.
